In a late 1920’s Berlin nightclub, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the CABARET. The musical explores the tumultuous life of Berlin between the wars. Cliff, a young American writer, is immediately taken by singer Sally Bowles. Fräulein Schneider, a boardinghouse landlord, begins a romance with a mild-mannered Jewish fruit seller. As a dark shadow slowly encroaches, the characters find themselves struggling to find a place in this dangerous new world.
