In a late 1920’s Berlin nightclub, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the CABARET. The musical explores the tumultuous life of Berlin between the wars. Cliff, a young American writer, is immediately taken by singer Sally Bowles. Fräulein Schneider, a boardinghouse landlord, begins a romance with a mild-mannered Jewish fruit seller. As a dark shadow slowly encroaches, the characters find themselves struggling to find a place in this dangerous new world.
CAST NEEDS: There are 21 roles for men and women of all ethnicities. Those who wish to audition should prepare a song (not from Cabaret). Bring sheet music for an accompanist as well. Those who audition will be expected to perform a short dance combination (taught by Choreographer Connie Marshall) and do a cold reading from the script as part of the audition. There are some non-dancing roles. As always, backstage and technical crew are needed. Come to auditions or call/text message Director Judi James at 979-230-6615 with questions or to volunteer.
Director: Judi James • Music Director: Tony Stewart
