Directing for the Stage Workshop
An event every week that begins at 6:00 PM on Sunday, repeating until July 12, 2020

Center director Wes Copeland will lead a FREE eight-week online workshop on the art and craft of directing for the stage, presented by Brazosport Center Stages. Participants will learn proven techniques on how to approach a script, develop a “director’s vision”, collaborate with designers and technicians, cast a play, assist actors in character development and manage an effective and efficient rehearsal and production schedule. By sharing his professional training and experience using discussions and practical online exercises, participants will learn how to “go from the page to the stage”. No acting or directing experience required. Both novice and experienced directors are encouraged to participate. Ages 15 and older.
Participants may need Microsoft Office-type capabilities (Word, Power Point or Google Docs, Slides). Please download Zoom at https://zoom.us/signup prior to the first session. Ability to take and upload photos is necessary.
Sessions will be on Sundays, May 24 – July 12 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, except for the fourth week of class. That week, the session will be on the evening of June 18 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
Class is limited to 24 students willing to commit to the entire workshop process.
