President’s Message

and Patty Humbird will show pictures from
the St. Pete Shell Show. Wanda Coker has a
Special Surprise Shell program planned.

CALL TO ORDER: The February 6, 2007 meeting of the Sea Shell Searchers was called to order by Vice-President Wanda Coker. Members
were welcomed and guests introduced. Wayne Humbird mentioned that the projector is working. The Sohoton Cave video bought by the shell
club was shown.
SECRETARY’S REPORT: April minutes were approved as mailed out in the newsletter.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Patty Humbird reported a balance
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
1.
Newsletter: Patty Humbird – Newsletter is on the web
2.
Field Trips: Darwin Alder – Quintana get-together is February 17 with a menu of Creole, Gumbo and Hot Dogs planned.
Motion made and passed for the club to donate money for the food.
3.
Hospitality: Freida White – Passed the list for food.
4.
Historian: Irene Norris – No report
5.
Exhibits: Dean Harris – No report.
6.
Auction: Wayne Humbird – the auction will be held at Jamboree May 07, is taking donations
7.
Programs: Wanda Coker – no comment
8.
Shell Show – Wanda Coker & Patty Humbird reported on plans for the shell show
OLD BUSINESS:
1.
Jamboree Update given by Wanda Coker & Patty Humbird. $50.00 fee will cover all meals.
2.
Bob & Betty Lipe will be guest speakers and Judges for the Single Specimen Shell Show.
3.
Dealers will be allowed a single table
NEW BUSINESS
1.
Save our Beach Association Presentation, “Shells and Shelling”, Feb 17, 2:00 PM, at Surfside City Hall, Dean Harris and Tina
Petway volunteered to do a presentation.
2.
Nominating Committee – Patty Humbird, Leslie Crnkovic and Lori Sipple volunteered.
3.
SeaSpace will be held March 31-April 1
4.
Houston Shell Club Auction is Saturday March 3rd at 11:00 am at the Emanuel Lutheran Church on 306 E. 15th Street.
5.
Rusti Stover asked for donations for the Goodie Bags. A design for the bags was discussed.

2007 COA in Convention – Portland, Oregon, August 1-5

preparations for the COA.
