Smokey Joe’s Cafe announces Talent Search!

Let the talent search begin!

Monday & Tuesday, December 3 & 4 at 7:00 p.m.
in the Freeport LNG Theater at The Center for the Arts & Sciences

The directors of Smokey Joe’s Café – The Songs of Leiber and Stoller will conduct a Talent Search for singers who can recreate the sound and style of some of the great voices of the 60’s and 70’s. Come show off on December 3 & 4 at 7 p.m.

The production requires two male quartets and male soloists as well as a female trio and soloists. Picture:

The Drifters, led by Ben E. King – silky, sexy and irresistible;

The Coasters – hectic mayhem onstage, entirely in song;

Dion and Fabian and all those other duck-tailed teen idols;

Big Mama Thornton – titanic rhythm and blues shouter;

Brenda Lee – innocence of teenage girls;

Peggy Lee – the throaty voice of experience;

Tina Turner and Patti LaBelle – savvy, wit, brains and beauty.
