Brazosport Center Stages’ production of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express

Directors Jean Warren & Connie Marshall are holding open auditions for Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express for 11 characters, including six males and five females between the ages of 20 and 80, with most parts requiring an accent. They are actively seeking performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, body types and abilities for all roles.

Hercule Poirot – Male age 40-60, nationality Belgian
Monsieur Bouc – Male age 30-60, nationality Belgian
Hector MacQueen, Male age 30s, nationality American (NY)
Michel/Head Waiter – Male age 20-40, nationality French/Turkish
Colonel Arbuthnot – Male age 30-40, nationality Scottish
Samuel Ratchett, Male age 40-50, nationality American (NY)
Helen Hubbard – Female age 50s, nationality American
Mary Debenham – Female age 20s, nationality English
Princess Dragomiroff – Female age 70s, nationality Russian
Countess Andrenyi – Female age 20s, nationality Hungarian
Greta Ohlsson – Female age 30s, nationality Swedish
The Story:
Famous detective Hercule Poirot is called back from Istanbul to London on urgent business. He intends to book a first-class compartment on the Orient Express, run by his former friend and colleague, Monsieur Bouc. They train is surprisingly full, but Bouc manages to secure Poirot a spot in the first-class cabin. While aboard the train, the angry businessman, Samuel Ratchett, corners Poirot and demands that he investigate a series of ominous letters that have been sent to Ratchett, threatening his life.
As a snowdrift halts the Orient Express in its tracks, Ratchett is found stabbed multiple times in his locked train compartment. Poirot is tasked by Monsieur Bouc to solve the murder, as the killer could still be in their midst. As Poirot investigates, conflicting clues and convoluted alibis lead him to dead ends. Over the course of 48 hours, will Poirot be able to solve the case of the Murder on the Orient Express?
The production is set for February 10-12 & 17-19 in The Center’s Freeport LNG Theater.
