BASF Planetarium solar eclipse event featured in The Facts

Despite lots of cloud cover during the morning, the sky cleared up enough during the afternoon to allow visitors to BASF Planetarium to view the partial solar eclipse on Monday, April 8! Members of the community gathered in The Center’s east parking lot to watch the eclipse’s progress, purchase safe viewing glasses and test out our non-traditional eclipse viewing methods (via the Sunspotter, through a colander, cereal box, etc.), as well as watch NASA’s live eclipse feed in the planetarium dome.

A reporter and photographer from The Facts attended the event to interview attendees and snap photos. Read the story, “Brazoria County catches a glimpse of the Eclipse: Gray skies clear up enough for some to glimpse near-totality“, and see photos in today’s (4/9) edition of The Facts.
