Brazosport Symphony Orchestra is proud to present Music with Friends. This will be BSO’s first-ever concert dedicated exclusively to chamber music, which you may recognize as a form of classical music that is composed for a small group of instruments—traditionally a group that could fit in a palace chamber or a large room. This event will provide a perfect opportunity to present some fabulous music featuring each of the “families” of the orchestra, while providing a safe, socially distanced environment for performers and audience alike. Music with Friends will include a diverse program that will appeal to our friends who love classical music, and to those who prefer selections that are more modern: “A Serenade of Serenades” – a sampling of some of the beautiful string pieces of Tchaikovsky, Dvorak and Mozart. A Carmen Fantasy – a fun medley from the opera of Georges Bizet performed by the BSO’s woodwind quintet, The Gulf Winds. Black Racer – an intense percussion ensemble evoking snake-like images. Performed by four of our local school districts’ percussion instructors. Mozart – Flute Concerto No. 1 in G-Major – performed by Simone Marshall – winner, 2020 Whit Phillips Young Artist Competition. New Horizons – The BSO brass and percussion will perform the world premiere of this exciting fanfare composed by long-time BSO member band director Jerry Crummel. Seating is limited. Click here to purchase your Build Your Own Plan tickets and make your reservations soon for our exciting 2020-2021 season opener!
