The winter holiday break is right around the corner, and parents know those weeks are always a bit chaotic with parties, shopping, visiting relatives and kids home from school with LOTS of time on their hands! We’re BACK this year with our family-favorite program, Cure for the Christmas Chaos, sure to keep the whole family entertained!
Due to Christmas Day and New Year’s Day falling in the middle of the week, we’ve spread the activities over two weeks: Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays of Christmas week and New Year’s week.
The Details:
- All events take place from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and are come-and-go, unless otherwise noted.
- ALL events are FREE, but RSVPs are requested so we can plan for supplies and seating. (Register for EACH of the events you plan to attend at the links below.)
- Kids MUST be accompanied by an adult.
MONDAY, December 22: “Star & Jingle”

Enjoy family-favorite Star & Space Story Time, featuring “Jingle the Christmas Clown” by Tomie dePaola, and star ornament crafts, space Christmas tree selfie station, new hands-on displays and MORE!

TUESDAY, December 23: Snapshots with Santa

Join us for family photos with the BEST Santa in all of Brazoria County, get creative and craft your very own holiday keepsake at our Photo Frame Craft Station and enjoy Grinch punch & Snow Day snack mix!
Friday, December 26: Snow Day Singalong Jingle Jam!

Warm up your singing voices and get ready for a holiday singalong with local musician Makayah Rees! Makayah will be playing her guitar, leading us in lots of festive holiday songs and we’ll have instruments to play. Get ready to sing, dance and make music together!
This program will begin at 11:00 AM and last approximately one hour. (Don’t be late!)
(If Makayah looks familiar, you may remember her from two of our most popular recent summer musicals…she played the roles of Belle in “Beauty and the Beast” and Leisl in “The Sound of Music”! She also works with our Penguin Project productions for our artists with special needs.)
MONDAY, December 29: Winter Watercolor Collage (and MORE!)

Various papers will be painted, then torn into shapes and glued down to create snowflakes, snowman, trees, poinsettias, etc. Face painting and popcorn will be an extra treat for all artists attending!
TUESDAY, December 30: “King Rhythm” performance

Join soprano/storyteller Hope Shiver and percussionist David Keepman on a fantastic ride through African American history via popular musical styles. Selected audience members will join in the fun, donning costumes and pantomime, becoming loveable characters Bluesy, Jazzy, and others. The program features lots of audience participation!

FRIDAY, January 2: Fly Away!
