Elizabethan Madrigal Feast auditions set for August 25-27: actors, singers, dancers, instrumentalists & backstage crew needed!

ELIZABETHAN MADRIGAL FEAST 2024: ACTORS, SINGERS, DANCERS, INSTRUMENTALISTS & BACKSTAGE CREW NEEDED

Be a part of our well-loved tradition, the Elizabethan Madrigal Feast, this holiday season!

We need actors, singers, dancers, instrumentalists, and backstage crew to lend their talents to our 2024 production.

Auditions are open to ages 9 and up. All auditioners must be prepared to read from the script, sing and dance. All experience and skill levels will be considered. Do not allow a lack of experience to prohibit you from auditioning! We welcome new people to our cast and crew every year.

Those wishing to be considered for a crew or backstage position only should attend at least one rehearsal. Indicate on your audition form that you only wish to work backstage.

OPEN AUDITIONS

  • Sunday, August 25 at 2:00 PM
  • Monday and Tuesday, August 26 & 27 at 6:30 PM

** Attendance at all three auditions is not required. If needed, the director will reach out to candidates for call backs later in the week

*** Head Table candidates should make every effort to attend the August 25 audition. Part of this vocal audition will be listening for balance and blend within vocal sections. Please contact music director Tony Stewart at [email protected] if you wish to be considered for the Head Table but cannot attend the August 25 audition.

**** Instrumentalists who have not already been contacted by a section leader but wish to be considered should attend an audition to complete the necessary information forms. After you complete and submit your audition form, you will be contacted in the coming weeks by either the music director or the section leader.

PERFORMANCE DATES

  • November 29, 30 & December 1
  • December 6 & 7
  • December 12, 13, 14 & 15

(All cast members must be present at all performances. Please note that the first week of performances will be Thanksgiving Week. We will not perform on Thanksgiving Day.)

PREPARATION FOR AUDITIONS

ACTING: Selections from the script will be available in The Center Administrative Office on Monday, August 12. You may ask for a copy by visiting The Center during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 9pm – 5pm excluding holidays).

ABOUT THE FEAST

The Center’s Dow Arena Theater is transformed into the Great Hall of Warwick Castle and Queen Elizabeth I is the honored guest. Visitors are treated to an immersive experience featuring Renaissance music, dancing, feasting and a comedy by William Shakespeare.
