Earth from Space: The Overview Effect
From the dawn of the space age, astronauts and people of science were amazed by the compelling prospective of seeing our earth from space. Indeed, one of the most meaningful aspects of the first space missions was the impact on the astronauts as they turned around to look at our home, hundreds of thousands of miles away. They describe themselves as changed by seeing our world as one interdependent whole, beyond boundaries of nations, a fragile place of beauty.
The short film “Earth from Space: The Overview Effect” will be part of Brazosport Planetarium’s weekly presentation this month, along with views of the earth from various locations in the solar system. See the March show on Tuesdays (March 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29) and the fourth Friday (March 25) at 7:00 PM in BASF Planetarium.
Tickets are free for planetarium members; non-member tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.
