Published author Ron Rozelle is offering a six-week workshop, “Several Heads are Better Than One: Focused Peer Critiquing of Creative Writing”, via Zoom this spring. The class will meet from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoons, February 13 through March 20.
In this interactive workshop, writers of all skill levels will receive critiques of their ideas and first draft manuscripts by Ron and the other members of the group. Writers will learn as much (or more) from critiques of others’ work as they will from assessments of their own.
Teachers looking for ways to improve students’ planning and writing will benefit greatly from this workshop as well. Educators from several school districts have taken Ron’s previous workshops and received in-service credit.
The number of pages presented by each participant will depend on the size of the group, but almost all the time will be spent critiquing. This allows participants to learn from the hits and misses in each other’s writing, including suggestions for different word choices and more effective ways to tell their unique stories.
Feel free to bring what you’re working on…fiction, nonfiction, memoir, verse or an idea you’re considering working into a story or book (no major profanity, politics or proselytizing please)…just show up to listen, learn and participate!
Space is limited to 20 students. Ages 18+ only.
Sundays, February 13, 20 & 27 and March 6, 13 & 20; 2:00 – 4:00 PM
