“Images From Life, Our Views” opens in Brazosport Art League gallery

A new exhibit in Brazosport Art League’s gallery, Images From Life, Our Views, opens today (Oct. 18)! Featuring more than 80 pieces of art created by BAL members Ron White and Lil’Anna Klein, the show includes numerous portraits, florals and still life in watercolor, ink, graphite and more.

Generously sponsored by 24HourNation, the exhibit runs this week through Sunday, November 13. An Opening Week Reception is slated for Friday, October 21 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM in the gallery.

Tickets to the gallery are FREE, but reservations are required and can be made when you arrive or in advance online. Hours of operation are 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, and 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

Ron White is a retired educator with 40 years’ experience teaching theater, music, English, speech, debate, bible, art and a scattering of other subjects (under the charge of “other duties as required”) to all grades in public and private schools, and at the college level. He holds several academic degrees and certifications, culminating in a PhD ABD, in Fine Arts.

He is primarily a sketch artist who dabbles in other art forms and is most interested, both in subject and style, in capturing the energy and variety of life in images on paper. Ron wants you to know nothing hanging on these walls by him made its way here without help from his Brazosport Art League friends and his brothers and sisters in faith. He appreciates you all.

Ron is proud and flattered to share this exhibit with his good friend Lil’ Anna Klein and encourages you to linger long over her skillful, beautiful, and sensitive works. He wants everyone to know that the arts, his family, friends, and faith are what sustains him.

Lil’ Anna Klein, a native of Lake Jackson, took art classes in the local school system, going on to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Sam Houston State University. She first helped with Brazosport Little Theatre and in the Summer Musicals at Brazosport High School.  She began work at the Brazosport Center for the Arts and Sciences when it was established in 1976, soon joining the Brazosport Art League.

Having a strong sense of family, home, and her Texas roots, Lil’ Anna works primarily in graphite and watercolor and is known for her portraits of people and her portrayals of feline and flora.

She hopes you enjoy the show and return home remembering the common, everyday impressions of our shared world.
