Don’t miss brand new exhibit, Creation on Canvas, featuring art by Jones Creek native Deanna Eixman, who now lives and paints in the Hill Country! Her exhibit opens Tuesday, June 3 in Brazosport Art League gallery and runs through Sunday, July 6.
BAL is hosting an opening week reception Friday, June 6 from 6:30 – 8:00 PM in the gallery. Meet the artist, see the exhibit and enjoy drinks & snacks. This event is FREE and open to the public.
Tickets to the gallery are FREE. Reserve your tickets in The Center lobby when you arrive or ahead of time at bcfas.org/visit. Normal gallery hours are 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday and 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sundays.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Deanna Eixman is a Texas-based contemporary artist known for her vivid acrylic and oil paintings that blend the precision of realism with expressive, modern flair. A graduate of Brazosport High School, she went on to study Graphic Design at Baylor University, where she also competed as a scholarship athlete. While design sharpened her attention to detail, she discovered her true creative calling through painting—where she could explore emotion, movement, and the divine beauty of nature.
Deanna finds deep inspiration in the landscapes and wildlife of the Texas Hill Country, where she now lives and paints full-time. Her work reflects a love for the rolling hills, colorful skies, and the surprising diversity of animals found across the region, including those at nearby exotic animal ranches. She is especially drawn to the personality and presence of animals—rendering everything from majestic lions to curious cattle with a unique sense of vitality.
In addition to her studio practice, Deanna volunteers at a private local zoo and offers private and small group art lessons. She also leads her signature “Creating with the Creator” sessions, which use painting as a means of healing, reflection, and spiritual connection.
For Deanna, painting is both a form of meditation and a celebration of God’s creation. Each brushstroke is an invitation to experience joy, wonder, and the restorative power of art.
