There are a LOT of exciting things coming up at BASF Planetarium, so mark your calendars and get your tickets now!
Brazosport Planetarium will close out January programming with the final showing of “Big Astronomy” on Tuesday, January 25 at 7:00 PM and the final January Saturday afternoon show on Saturday, January 29 at 1:00 PM, both in BASF Planetarium.
The new planetarium show for February, “Wonderful Women: Women Enter Astronomy” will be shown on Tuesdays (Feb. 1, 8, 15 & 22) and the fourth Friday of the month (Feb. 25) at 7:00 PM in BASF Planetarium. The show focuses on some of the earliest women to contribute to the field of astronomy. Tickets are free for planetarium members; non-member tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Next, get tickets for “Astronomia en Gran Escala”, the Spanish version of our popular show “Big Astronomy”, scheduled for Thursday, February 3 at 7:00 PM in BASF Planetarium. Tickets are free for planetarium members; non-member tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Finally, make plans to join us on Friday, February 4 for “Real People, Big Astronomy with Dr. Sian Proctor” in BASF Planetarium. We will have refreshments starting at 5:45 PM, followed by a FREE live Zoom program with Dr. Proctor at 6:00 PM.
A geoscientist, explorer, space artist and astronaut, Dr. Proctor was the mission pilot for the Inspiration4 all-civilian orbital mission to space, the first of its kind. We will learn about her varied career path and three-day mission in Earth orbit, in which Dr. Proctor became the first African American female pilot to fly in space.
