Los Vivos y Los Muertos is an exhibition featuring art that explores and honors the cultures, heritage, traditions and rich history of Mexico and the southwest United States with a concentration on work inspired by Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Dia de los Muertos a vibrant, multi-day Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief, joyful reunion.
Established and emerging artists (ages 14 and above) are invited to submit images of completed work for consideration through Monday, August 31. A Best in Show prize of $1,000 will be awarded to a single piece. Ribbons will be awarded to the winner in each media category for an emerging artist and an established artist.
This juried exhibition will be held at The Center for the Arts & Sciences, hosted by Brazosport Fine Arts Council, from Tuesday, October 6 through Monday, November 2!
