Spring Break Spectacular is BACK in 2026, set for March 9-13!

Join us for our 2026 Spring Break Spectacular, March 9-13, for a full slate of FUN, family-friendly activities! Events are FREE and take place from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (unless otherwise noted), but RSVPs are requested to help us ensure we have enough supplies.

Please RSVP for the events YOU plan to attend! (A parent/guardian must accompany children at all events.)

MONDAY, March 9 – ISLAND BEATS SPRING BREAK BASH: STEEL DRUM SHOWCASE

Join award-winning, Houston musician Esworth Christmas and friends as they play the steel drums and bring a taste of the islands to The Center!

TUESDAY, March 10 – NEBULA: CREATING COSMIC CLOUDS

Sponsored by BASF Planetarium

11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (This is a come-and-go event!)

Learn all about nebulas through the following activities:

  • Make your own nebula in a jar
  • Draw a chalk nebula
  • Go on a nebula scavenger hunt
  • View real nebulas in our planetarium dome
  • Learn all about nebulas through our lobby displays

WEDNESDAY, March 11 – ANIMAL HABITATS: LEGO EDITIION

Sponsored by Brazosport Museum of Natural Science

11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (This is a come-and-go event!)

Pick a toy animal, grab some bricks and build a cozy habitat where your critter can eat, sleep and play! Your animal might live in the jungle, ocean or desert, so it’s up to YOU to make them feel right at home. (Take your animal home, leave the bricks so we can play again.)

THURSDAY, March 12 – “GIT” ON BOARD: THE LIFE OF HARRIET TUBMAN

Sponsored by Brazosport Center Stages

Starts at 11:00 AM…don’t be late!

Take a musical ride on the Underground Railroad to meet the heroic Harriet Tubman and learn of her early experiences as a slave. Discover how Tubman led fellow freedom-seeking slaves to hiding places on their way to safety in the North. Musician and performer Hope Shiver interweaves Tubman’s poignant story with spirituals and work songs. David Keepman provides musical accompaniment as participants chant, clap, cheer, and rejoice in experiencing the famous railroad.

FRIDAY, March 13 – LUCKY 13: BRUSHING AWAY THE SUPERSTITIONS

Sponsored by Brazosport Art League

11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (This is a come-and-go event!)

It may be Friday the 13th, but we’re planning for sunny skies and all the good luck at our “Lucky 13: Brushing Away the Superstitions” in the Brazosport Art League studio! We’ll be painting with acrylic paint and will provide aprons, but suggest wearing clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.
