ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Cynthia Kethley
My mother enrolled me in my first oil painting class in Tyler, TX ; I was 11 years old.
I believe that everyone can be creative. It’s God’s gift to us and we can give back in our own unique ways. For me my art and photography are the primary expressions. My favorite visual art is working in mixed media. It has unlimited potential and can be very challenging. But, cooking, gardening and crafting all count as being creative.
Over the years I have entered three local County Fairs and won ribbons. Here in Brazoria County I contributed to the Art Strings Project and decorated two ornaments that represented our district in Austin at the Capital.
As a member of the Brazosport Art League I stay as busy as I can helping with projects. Also, I am a member of the Brazosport Symphony League.
I attend Chapelwood United Methodist Church where my husband, Paul is the pastor. We reside in Lake Jackson. Our daughter Ashley lives in Houston and is a Spanish teacher at a Charter School.
Inga Howard
Inga is an Angleton-based artist whose work explores the divine feminine, nature, animals, beauty, and the layered inner world of the self. Though she has been creating for as long as she can remember, Inga has devoted herself more seriously to her art over the past few years, allowing her style to unfold in a deeply intuitive and evolving way.
Her paintings often blend acrylic, oil, alcohol ink, glitter, and mixed media elements, creating pieces that feel textured, emotional, feminine, and alive. Inga is drawn to art that feels multi-layered… not only visually, but symbolically. Her work often reflects themes of transformation, shadow, softness, wildness, and the sacred relationship between inner and outer beauty.
Inga is affiliated with the Artist Alliance of Brazoria County, where she teaches classes and workshops. She is also passionate about art as therapy, especially through the lens of Jungian archetypes, shadow work, and creative self-discovery. Alongside her partner, she co-facilitates a meditation and sound healing studio, offering weekly guided meditations and sound baths for the community.
She lives in Angleton with her two boys, six cats, and a dog, surrounded by what she lovingly calls her “chaos garden” filled with vibrant flowers and little sacred spaces. For Inga, art is not separate from life… it is a way of creating beauty, softness, and sanctuary in the middle of the world’s chaos.
We invite you to experience her work as part of Venus Between Us, a show centered around beauty, relationship, femininity, and the invisible spaces that connect us.
