7/12 UPDATE:
- This weekend’s performances of Brazosport Center Stages‘ production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, originally set for July 12-14, are CANCELED. Updated show dates are as follows:
- Friday, July 19 at 7:30 PM
- Saturday, July 20 at 7:30 PM
- Sunday, July 21 at 2:30 PM
- Monday, July 22 at 7:30 PM
- Tuesday, July 23 at 7:30 PM
If you already purchased tickets for this weekend (July 12-14), you should have received an email with instructions on how to reschedule your tickets, request a refund or convert your ticket purchase to a donation to Center Stages. If you have any questions, call The Center at (979) 265-7661 during regular business hours.
If you purchased tickets for next weekend (July 19-21), you don’t need to do anything, as your reservations are still valid.
If you want to purchase tickets to ANY of the five performances, get them online NOW or call The Center during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm).
- If your child was registered for Brazosport Art League’s Summer at The Center art camp this past week, we will contact you as soon as possible with your options. Parents/guardians may choose to donate their 2024 camp registration fee to the Art League, request a refund or roll their fee toward registration in next summer’s art camp. (Those choosing the third option will be given the opportunity at the end of April 2025 to register their child before registration opens to the general public. Students must still qualify by age/grade level to attend an art camp to take advantage of this option.)
- The new art exhibit featuring art by Ken Ness and Ken Halvorsen, Post-Modern Retrospective, will be OPEN this weekend in the Brazosport Art Gallery from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Saturday and 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday. Tickets to the gallery are FREE. To help us record visitor demographics, please register in The Center lobby when you arrive. The reception for Post-Modern Retrospective has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 20 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. The public is welcome and invited to attend!
- Brazosport Museum of Natural Science will be CLOSED for previously scheduled maintenance through Friday, August 2. We will reopen on Saturday, August 3 for our annual family-favorite event, Dino Day!

7/10 UPDATE:
- The first weekend of Brazosport Center Stages’ production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, slated for July 12-14, has been CANCELED. Our administrative offices and Box Office are still closed, but we will reach out to ticket holders with more information AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Please be patient as we work to ensure the utmost safety of our cast, crew, volunteers, employees and audience members.
- Our shared campus with Brazosport College continues to be CLOSED to the public, including Brazosport Art League gallery & studio, Brazosport Museum of Natural Science and BASF Planetarium. Please stay tuned for updates on plans to reopen.

Due to continued power outages at The Center, we will be CLOSED on Tuesday, July 9. Stay tuned for updates regarding the remainder of the week.

In response to potential weather issues due to Hurricane Beryl, The Center will observe the following closures:
THE CENTER:
The Center, including Brazosport Museum of Natural Science and Brazosport Art League gallery, will be CLOSED on Sunday and Monday, July 7 & 8. We plan to re-open on Tuesday, July 9.
ART CAMP:
The Monday and Tuesday (7/8 & 7/9) sessions of Brazosport Art League Summer at The Center art camp are canceled, with plans to resume on Wednesday. Parents/guardians of camp participants will receive more details from BAL leadership via email.
CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG REHEARSALS:
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang rehearsals on Sunday and Monday, July 7 & 8, are canceled. Rehearsals will resume on Tuesday, July 9 and also take place on Wednesday and Thursday, July 10 & 11. Opening Night is slated for Friday, July 12! Cast & crew will receive additional information from the director & producer.
