70th Anniversary Fine Art Family Fun Day

Celebrate Brazosport Art League’s 70th anniversary!
MAIN GALLERY:
Join us in the Brazosport Art League’s Main Gallery inside The Center of the Arts & Sciences for beautiful art on display and for sale, a slideshow highlighting 70 years of fun with the art league, and a raffle guests can enter to win gift certificates and art donated by our member artists. Raffle tickets are just $5 each!
STUDIO:
In the BAL Studio, visitors can take in art demonstrations by several of our BAL members artists:
- Dana Moody-Stevens – 1:00 PM
- Sherry Hall Shelton – 2:00 PM
- Robert Ruhmann – 3:00 PM
- Cynthia Grandjean – 4:00 PM
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES:
Outdoor activities will be located in the West parking lot.
Stop by the booths of our featured BAL member artists with a variety beautiful artworks for sale:
- Sheryl’s Garden Custom Art – paintings on feathers
- Dot Alford Photography – fine art photography
- Hub’s Woodwork Custom Designs – unique designs using mesquite/cedar wood with epoxy resin
- Inga Howard Spiritual Art – art created from visions and meditations
- Designs Anew Glass Art – stained and fused glass artworks
- Sunrise Pottery – fine art ceramics
- Miller Portrait Photography & Graphic Design – portrait and nature photography
An outdoor seating area near the trees between booths and food trucks will be provided. Speaking of food trucks, we’ll have several on site for your dining & sipping pleasure! We’re excited to welcome:
- Gelu Italian Ice
- Sparta Houston
- Lucky Lemon
- Just Eat It
Our guests will be served gyros, corn dogs, smash burgers, chicken baskets, iced tea, hand squeezed lemonades, frozen confections w/ candy toppings and more!
Fun Art Cars will be located across from our artists’ booths during the entire event.
Musical guests The Industrial Hillbillies will play a fun improv set from 2p. – 4p. Visitors will be invited from the audience to play percussion and sing with the band. No musical experience required!
Be sure to check out our Drawing from Life booth, where visitors can try their hand at sketching live models in 20-minute sessions (all supplies provided)! And, for the truly adventurous creators, our Craft Zone tents will provide supplies for guests of all ages to create your very own Upcycled Birds using recycled materials. Next to the Craft Zone you are invited to participate in the Sidewalk Chalk Gallery from 1p. – 5p. If getting crafty is not for you, try your hand at one of our fun games and see if you can win a prize!
Volunteers will be stationed at both entrances to The Center of the Arts & Sciences as well as at the Info Booth on the West parking lot with maps and to escort you to your destination if requested.
