Join instructor Linda Strickland for a two-day workshop, The Figure in Mixed Media, from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 in Brazosport Art League studio. The workshop will review basic figure drawing — capturing the gesture of a pose and placing the features on the head — by drawing with charcoal and painting in watercolor to start. Next, students will add collaged papers, other mediums, textures and designs, working in layers.
Registration is $100 for BAL members and $125 for non-BAL members. The workshop is open to adult and teen artists of all skill levels, but is limited to 15 students. REGISTER NOW!
SUPPLY LIST:
Linda recommends using 140# hot pressed watercolor paper (22×30 inch). Cold pressed is also fine, but Linda will have hot pressed paper for sale at the workshop. One sheet will easily make 2 nice-sized paintings.
Bring whatever painting and collage supplies you have, including (but not limited to):
- Watercolor paints, palette and brushes
- Acrylic paints andd brushes
- Charcoal – recommend thin vine sticks and charcoal pencils
- Decorative papers: handmade art papers, napkins, maps, newspapers, vintage recipes, books & printed materials, wrapping paper, etc.
- Pastels and/or pastel pencils
- Watercolor pencils
- Stamps
- Water tub, paper towels, pencils,, erasers, sharpie markers, painting board
- Reference photos
- Large drawing pad
