The Center invites community to Bet on the Arts Casino Night & Gala

New Year’s Eve party aims to raise support for local arts & science programs

The Center for the Arts & Sciences invites the community to ring in the new year at Bet on the Arts Casino Night & Gala, on Friday, December 31 from 8:00 PM – 12:30 AM at the Courtyard by Marriott in Lake Jackson. This New Year’s Eve party and fundraiser will feature simulated casino games including blackjack, poker, craps and roulette, as well as a DJ and dancing, heavy hors d’oeuvres, drink tickets, cash bar, photo booth, silent auction, champagne toast at midnight and more.

After last year’s Elizabethan Madrigal Feast was cancelled for the first time in its history, leadership at The Center began planning a new, festive event this year to bring the community together.

“We love the tradition of Madrigal and it will be back in 2022, but we wanted to create another fun and glitzy experience,” The Center executive director Wes Copeland said. “Bet on the Arts is our big New Year’s Eve fundraiser bash and I think it’s going to be a great time. We invite our community to come have a lot of fun, celebrate the holiday season with us and usher in a new year together.”

As the cultural home for a community of approximately 340,000 people, The Center provides performance and exhibit space to its permanent residents, including Brazosport Art League, Brazosport Center Stages community theater, Brazosport Museum of Natural Science, BASF Planetarium and Brazosport Symphony Orchestra. From producing plays, musicals, and symphony concerts to hosting art workshops, planetarium shows and science activities, the volunteers and staff at The Center ensure our community has a place to not only experience the arts and sciences but to get involved as well.

“We exist to provide quality arts and science programs for our community and visitors to Brazoria County, but we can’t do it without the support of the businesses and community leaders who see and understand the value we bring to our area,” said Copeland. “The arts and sciences enrich our lives, provide opportunities for creative minds to dream and cultivate fellowship among the people who are part of what we affectionately call ‘our Center family’. We believe we are a shining example of the many extraordinary aspects of living and working in this community.”

The glitzy, casino-themed affair will take place in the Courtyard by Marriott’s ballroom and is for adults ages 21 and up. Cocktail attire is recommended. Tickets to the event are $125 and include food, two drink tickets and chips for casino games. Contact the Courtyard by Marriot for more detail on discounted room rates and reservations.
