Brazosport Symphony Orchestra’s “Music for the Ages” concert set for May 6

Join Brazosport Symphony Orchestra for its final concert of the 2022-2023 season, Music for the Ages, on Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 PM at The Clarion at Brazosport College. BSO will share the stage with the Brazosport Civic Chorus, a collaborative venture between the community and Brazosport College, and the new Brazosport Children’s Choir, both under the direction of David Hill.

According to BSO conductor Brian Casey, the concert will include the following music:

Orpheus in the Underworld Overture by Jacques Offenbach

“This is one of the most iconic and beloved pieces of classical music. The cancan will have everyone wanting to dance!”

World premiere of Courage by Jacob Evarts, the winner of BSO’s 2023 Composition Contest.

“Jacob, age 19, is the youngest winner in the history of this competition.”

The Crown Imperial Coronation March by William Walton

“It just so happens that the Coronation of Charles III and Camilla as King and Queen of the United Kingdom will also fall on May 6th! Maybe they can live-stream us in!”

Mass of the Children by John Rutter

“Featuring the Brazosport Civic Chorus and the Brazosport Children’s Choir, this piece includes almost 100 performers with soloists Errin Hatter and David Hill.”
