Register now for “Back to Basics: Effective Storytelling” with Ron Rozelle

Join Ron Rozelle, award-winning author of 11 books of fiction and nonfiction, for Back to Basics: Effective Storytelling, a four-session storytelling workshop at The Center for the Arts & Sciences this fall! From sharing a memory with your family to writing a book, participants will learn to improve their storytelling skills.

The workshop will run from 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM on Sundays for four weeks, starting September 10, and is open to all levels of writers ages 16 & up. Registration is $100 for Brazosport Fine Arts Council members and $125 for non-members.

What to expect:

  • The group will read, discuss and dissect the opening section of an iconic story, searching for metaphorical tools writers can use to effectively hook readers from page one.
  • Next, learn about the literary devices and manipulations that storytellers have employed since the first storyteller wove his first tale.
  • Finally, discuss story ideas and share original text with the group with time for peer review.
