Join Brazosport Art League to celebrate the teen artists participating in the Teen Studio Time Show at a reception and awards presentation on Friday, May 12 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM in the gallery! Come see the exhibit, meet the artists and enjoy food & drinks. This event is FREE and open to the public.
Join Brazosport Art League to celebrate the high school seniors participating in the 2023 Bruce Good Memorial Scholarship Show at a reception and awards presentation on Sunday, May 7 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the gallery! Come see the exhibit (and this year’s scholarship winner!), meet the artists and enjoy food & drinks. This event is FREE and open to the public.
Brazosport Art League’s People’s Choice exhibit allows the public to vote for their two favorite pieces of art during the annual show. Open since late March, the exhibit is entering the home stretch, with voting closing this Thursday, April 27.
The Facts published a feature in this weekend’s (4/22) edition, highlighting the show and the public’s role in selecting the winners, who will be named at a reception on Friday, April 28 in the gallery. The exhibit officially closes on Sunday, April 30.

Join Brazosport Art League to celebrate the artists of the 2023 People’s Choice exhibit at a reception and awards presentation on Friday, April 28 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM in the gallery! Come see the exhibit (and this year’s winners!), meet the artists and enjoy food & drinks. This event is FREE and open to the public.
Each spring, Brazosport Art League members have the opportunity to submit their art for inclusion in the annual People’s Choice gallery exhibit. This year’s show opens Tuesday, March 21 and features close to 60 pieces of art in a wide variety of mediums from photography and glass mosaics to watercolor and oil paintings.
While the exhibit runs officially through Sunday, April 30, gallery visitors are invited to vote on their two favorite pieces of art through Thursday afternoon, April 27. A reception is scheduled for the following evening, April 28, from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM in the gallery for the artists, their guests and the community. Artists whose pieces receive the highest number of votes will also receive awards.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see the wide range of talents and skills of BAL members on display during this show over the next several weeks and vote for your favorites! Brazosport Art League is opening a new exhibit in the gallery this week, Moments in Time by artist and BAL member Dana Moody Stevens, featuring paintings in various mediums and several sculptures. An opening week reception is scheduled for Friday, January 20 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM in the gallery.
About the artist:
Dana has had a passion for art since high school. She received a scholarship to the Art Institute of Houston in 1982 and has also won many state and national awards. At the age of 23, Dana became legally blind but continued to pursue her art.
Her faith in God has pulled her through both good and bad times, as several of her pictures show. She invites you to enjoy her art and feel an emotional connection to her art and God.
The show will run through Sunday, February 12. Tickets to the gallery are FREE, but reservations are required and can be made when you arrive or in advance online. Hours of operation are 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday and 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday.
The Facts highlighted the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Brazosport ISD Art Competition on the front page of today’s (1/13/23) paper, in “Student art show teaches skills, culture”. Brazosport Art League hosts the annual show each January, providing a place to display art by students across BISD from all 13 campuses. Entries are judged and finalists are eligible to enter their art into the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo art competition.
A reporter and photographer came out to the well-attended reception for students, parents and BISD teachers on Tuesday, January 10. The show ends on Saturday, January 14, so be sure to come visit before it closes!
