$1,000 Prize to the Young Artist of the Year 

Prizes also awarded to each category division winner. 

Open to Brazoria County music students grades K-12. Auditions on string, brass, wind, percussion, piano or voice. 

Application deadline: January 12, 2022 

Auditions: January 30, 2022; 2:00 PM; The Clarion Concert Hall at Brazosport College 

Winners may be invited to perform with BSO: May 7, 2022

Whit Phillips Memorial Young Artist Competition Winners Featured in The Facts

The Facts recently published a feature story about the student musicians who played with Brazosport Symphony Orchestra in its final concert of the 2020-2021 season on May 15. Nine young artists were selected as winners of the 2020 Whit Phillips Memorial Young Artist Competition and the following five played with the Symphony during the concert: violist Sandhya Mahesh, oboist Zen Smith, and pianists Grayson and Naomi Vernor and Hans Aggarwal.

Tickets On Sale for Final BSO Concert of the Season

Tickets are available now for Brazosport Symphony Orchestra’s last concert of the 2020-2021 season, “Surprise and Awe,” slated for Saturday, May 15 at 7:30 PM at The Clarion. Winners of the 2020 Whit Phillips Memorial Young Artists Competition will be featured, as well as Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 94, “Surprise Symphony”.
