CALLING ALL TRIVIA BUFFS! Registration & sponsorship opportunities are AVAILABLE NOW for BASF Planetarium’s annual trivia competition, Scholastic Bowl, slated for Thursday, February 22 at 7:00 PM! Registration is $100/team (4 people).

Scholastic Bowl welcomes adult and high school 4-person teams for an evening of trivia and fun! Over three rounds, teams answer a litany of questions concerning art, science, pop culture and local interests.

 

Scholastic Bowl is the main fundraiser for BASF Planetarium and relies on the entry fees, individual and corporate sponsorships for this event to help fund its educational activities throughout the year.

 

Blast off with BASF Planetarium shows & activities in January!

BASF Planetarium is offering a brand new planetarium show in January, International Space Station: Gateway to Space, at 7:00 PM on Tuesdays (1/2, 9, 16, 23 & 30) and the 4th Friday (1/26). Learn how astronauts go about their days on board the International Space Station, as well as how the scientific experiments performed today will help us to get to the moon, Mars and beyond. Tickets to planetarium shows are FREE to planetarium members; non-member tickets are $5/person.

 

BASF Planetarium is open on Fridays (1/5, 1/12, 1/19 & 1/26) from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM and offers a rotating slate of planetarium shows at 1:00 PM. See the full schedule of shows and purchase tickets on our website.

 

Visitors can also join us on Saturday afternoons (1/6, 1/13, 1/20 & 1/27) for a rotating slate of children’s books during our FREE Star & Space Story Time at 12:30 PM, followed by family-friendly planetarium shows at 1:00 PM. Cure for the Christmas Chaos: Space Cookie Decorating

Join us at BASF Planetarium on Friday, December 22 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM for some delicious family fun! We’ll be decorating space cookies and offering other hands-on activities.

Every year when December rolls around, local lovers of astronomy know what will be showing on the fulldome screen at BASF Planetarium. Season of Light has been a holiday staple at the planetarium for countless years (nobody remembers how long, in fact), screening throughout the month on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM and Fridays at 1:00 PM.
