Guest soloist Robin Spielberg joins Brazosport Symphony Orchestra for the symphony premiere of By Way of the Wind! A pianist, composer and recording artist, Robin is well known for her expressive technique, melodic composition style and engaging live performances. Her orchestrated works reflect the universal human experience of moving through the world, recounting stories of courage and resilience.

Brazosport Symphony Orchestra’s “Music for the Ages” concert set for May 6

Join Brazosport Symphony Orchestra for its final concert of the 2022-2023 season, Music for the Ages, on Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 PM at The Clarion at Brazosport College. BSO will share the stage with the Brazosport Civic Chorus, a collaborative venture between the community and Brazosport College, and the new Brazosport Children’s Choir, both under the direction of David Hill.

According to BSO conductor Brian Casey, the concert will include the following music:

Orpheus in the Underworld Overture by Jacques Offenbach

“This is one of the most iconic and beloved pieces of classical music. The cancan will have everyone wanting to dance!”

World premiere of Courage by Jacob Evarts, the winner of BSO’s 2023 Composition Contest.

“Jacob, age 19, is the youngest winner in the history of this competition.”

The Crown Imperial Coronation March by William Walton

“It just so happens that the Coronation of Charles III and Camilla as King and Queen of the United Kingdom will also fall on May 6th! Maybe they can live-stream us in!”

Mass of the Children by John Rutter

“Featuring the Brazosport Civic Chorus and the Brazosport Children’s Choir, this piece includes almost 100 performers with soloists Errin Hatter and David Hill.”

Brazosport Symphony Orchestra plans “Superheroes!” concert for April 1

Join Brazosport Symphony Orchestra for Superheroes! on Saturday, April 1 at 7:30 PM at The Clarion at Brazosport College. The concert will feature winners of the 2023 Whit Phillips Memorial Young Artist Competition and themes from Superman, Gladiator and Batman films.

Celebrate Brazosport Symphony Orchestra’s 40th Anniversary with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6

Join us as we celebrate 40 years with Brazosport Symphony Orchestra at the second concert of the 2022-2023 season, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 on Sunday, November 6 at 4:00 PM at The Clarion on Brazosport College’s campus! Founded in 1982, BSO has been making beautiful music for 40 seasons, playing classical and pops concerts for local audiences and visitors alike.

This concert will feature composer Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, known as the Pastoral Symphony, along with other classical favorites. We’ll also be throwing a 40th anniversary bash for BSO, featuring cake!

Bring the whole family to enjoy this celebration of BSO’s musical legacy AND the timeless music of Beethoven.
