Kids will be out of school the entire week before Christmas…and we all know it’s going to get CHAOTIC. Local parents are in luck because we’ve got the cure!

Join us Monday through Thursday, December 19 – 22, for A Cure for the Christmas Chaos at The Center for different shows and activities sponsored by our programs each day! Click the dates below for tickets!

  • Wednesday, December 21: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
    • “Lil’ Man Saves Christmas” presented by The Ensemble Theater in partnership with Young Audiences of Houston, in the Freeport LNG Theater (sponsored by Brazosport Center Stages)
    • When it becomes clear that his mom and sister won’t get their Christmas wish, Lil’ Man enlists the help of Santa’s wild elves to make sure the holidays are once again merry and bright. A play with music, silly elves and a lot of heart, “Lil’ Man Saves Christmas” reminds us that achieving your dreams takes community and courage and sometimes a little magic from old St. Nick!

A Fun Band Family Christmas

Join us for “A Fun Band Family Christmas” on Tuesday, December 20 at 10:30 AM in the Dow Arena Theater! Mr. Tom of Tom’s Fun Band and his friends will be here to spread holiday cheer in this family-friendly show, featuring holiday songs and wacky shenanigans!

Tickets are available on a “pay what you can” basis, with a suggested donation of $5 per person.

“The Science of Sound” program featured in The Facts

Brazosport Fine Arts Council’s first Family Science Series event of the 2022-2023 season, “The Science of Sound”, is slated to hit the stage in the Freeport LNG Theater on Saturday, September 24 at 2:00 PM. The program features Tom Wilbeck of Tom’s Fun Band and will explore how sound is made, how we hear sound and how sound moves.

The Facts featured the upcoming program on the front page of today’s (9/23) paper in “Science and sound to collide at Center for the Arts” and included an interview with Wilbeck. Read the story at The Facts online.

Aimed primarily at families with kids in kindergarten through 5th grade, this program will feature Mr. Tom, his guitar and lots of other instruments too!

Participants will learn how sound is made, how sound moves and how we hear sound. The 5 families of instruments will be used to illustrate how unique instruments still use vibrations to produce their sound. Audience members will clap, sing and chant to drive home the learning objectives and celebrate the fun when science and music collide!

Tickets are available on a “pay what you can” basis with a suggested amount of $5 per child and $10 per adult.

The Center is committed to offering programs that are financially accessible to everyone in our community by ensuring that anyone who wants to attend can attend. If you can afford to, please consider paying extra to help support those who cannot.
